OPSC PGT Selection Process

The selection of candidates for recruitment to the posts is expected to be made on the basis of Career Assessment and Personality test/Interview. There shall be a total marking of 100 marks. Out of 100 marks, the Career Assessment will be 70 marks and the Personality test/Interview will be of 30 marks. 70 mark s of Career Assessment as mentioned may be calculated with the following weightage:

The candidates who are qualified in their career assessment will be called for the interview process. The interview will be conducted for 30 marks.

The candidates in three times the total no. of posts of Post Graduate Teachers in each category (subject wise) shall be shortlisted and shall be called for the Personality Test/Interview on the basis of marks secured in Post­ Graduation level, which shall be qualifying in nature".

The final select list will be prepared on the basis of marks secured in Career Assessment and Personality Test/Interview, category-wise.

OPSC PGT Eligibility Criteria

The candidates who wish to apply for the recruitment process must satisfy the eligibility criteria. The candidates who do not meet the eligibility criteria will be rejected by the authorities.

Age Limit

The candidates is expected to be between 21 - 32 years of age as of 01.01.2023 to apply for the recruitment. However, age relaxation is applicable for the reserved category candidates.

Educational Qualification (Expected)

• A candidate must have a Master’s Degree in the subject concerned from a recognized University and have possessed two years Post Graduate Master’s Course or integrated six years Post Graduate Master’s Course from Regional College of Education recognized by the NCERT in the concerned subject.
• A candidate must have B.Ed. or equivalent degree recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education, New Delhi as equivalent to B.Ed. from a recognized University provided that B.Ed. qualification shall not be the mandatory eligibility criteria for the post of Post Graduate Teacher in the subjects where B.Ed. the course is not offered.
• Degree or Diploma in Computer Application is a desirable qualification subject to production of the certificate in support of above qualification obtained from a recognized University or College or Institution having affiliation to a recognized University.
• B.Ed. qualification for subjects other than Botany, Chemistry, English, Economics, Geography, History, Hindi, Mathematics, Odia, Physics, Political Science, Sanskrit and Zoology shall not be mandatory eligibility criteria for the post of Post Graduate Teacher.

Language Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates should be able to speak, read and write in the Odia Language.
• They must have cleared Middle School Examination in the Odia Language

Other Important Eligibility Criteria 

• Candidates who have more than one spouse living are not eligible to apply

• Candidates must be an Indian citizen
