SSC CGL Exam Pattern

The recruitment calls for a three-tier selection process.

• Tier-I will consist of questions related to Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude & English Language for 200 marks.
• The tier-II will consist of four papers according to the post for 100 marks each.
• Tier III will be a descriptive paper to test the writing skills of the candidates.
• The candidates applying for the post of Assistant Section Officer in CSS & MEA will be attempting a Computer Proficiency Test.
• Candidates applying for the post of Tax Assistants (Central Excise & Income Tax) will be attempting the data entry skill test.

Given below in the table is the detailed exam pattern for different tiers of the SSC CGL Recruitment. In the table, you will also be getting information regarding the computer proficiency and skill test

SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Pattern

• There will be 4 sections in the SSC CGL Tier I Examination - Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude & English Language
• Each section consists of 25 questions and each question carries 2 marks which makes it a total of 50 marks per section
• The total time duration is 60 minutes and there is a negative marking of 0.50 marks per question
• The Total marks can hence be calculated as -
• Total Marks = No. Of Correct Questions*2 - No. Of Incorrect Questions*0.50. Check the table below for more information.

SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam Pattern (Revised)

Candidates who qualify their Tier 1 will be selected for the Tier 2 phase. There will be 3 papers in Tier 2 - Paper I, Paper II and Paper III. Check more details below.
