SSC GD Constable State-wise Vacancy 2024 Out! A total of 26146 vacancies have been announced by the commission. The Staff Selection Commission has released the 2024 Notification for Constable (GD) in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles Examination, 2024. Eligible Candidates can submit online applications from  24th November 2023 to 31st December 2023. The SSC conducts the GD Constable Examination to appoint candidates for various forces like the Special Security Force (SSF), Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), Rifleman in Assam Rifles Commission, and Sepoy in the Narcotics Control Bureau.   • The SSC GD Constable Selection Process is based on Computer Based Examination (CBE), Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Medical Examination and Document Verification.
  • The SSC GD CBE will consist of one objective type of paper. A total duration of 60 minutes will be given to attempt the CBE.

SSC GD Exam 

The SSC GD Full Form is General Duty, Constable. This examination is generally conducted in the months of February and August. The application process begins at least one month prior to the exam. The GD Constable exam is conducted in stages as given below:

  • Written Test: The written test consists of objective-type questions from General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Knowledge and General Awareness, Elementary Mathematics and English/Hindi.
  • Physical Efficiency Test: The Physical Efficiency Test consists of different physical tests such as running, long jump, high jump, shot put, etc.
  • Medical Examination: The Medical Examination is conducted to test the physical and mental fitness of the candidates. It includes tests such as eye tests, hearing tests, dental check-ups, etc.

The objective type paper is of 100 marks which has to be completed within 90 minutes. The paper consists of four sections which are General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Knowledge & General Awareness, Elementary Mathematics and English/Hindi. The minimum qualifying marks for the exam is 35%.

The candidates who qualify the written exam are called for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST). The candidates who qualify the PET and PST are eligible for a medical examination. The final selection is based on the marks obtained in the written exam and the medical examination.

What's New in SSC GD Notification 2024?

Well, this year, SSC is giving huge surprises in all the exams that SSC Conducts. SSC has given some surprises in the notification of SSC GD Constable too. Let's have a look at the below-mentioned pointers to know what SSC does major changes:

  • The SSC GD  Exam Pattern has been revised. Earlier, in CBE, 100 questions were asked for 100 marks, which were to be attempted in 90 minutes. Now, the revised exam pattern of CBE contains 80 questions for 160 marks, and that must be attempted in 60 minutes.
  • Earlier, each section contained 25 questions, but now, each will have 20 questions.
  • Another major change is in the age limit. The age limit as specified by SSC is from 18 to 23 years. Candidates should not have been born earlier than 02-01-2001 and later than 01-01-2006 in normal course.

SSC GD Application Process

The application process is the first step while participating in any recruitment process. Candidates should be well aware of the information they will be uploading, as any fake information could cancel their candidature. The application process for the SSC GD Constable 2023 will start on 24th November, 2023 and the last date to submit the applications will be 31st December, 2023 till 11:00 pm. The application form for SSC GD Constable 2024 is incomplete without the application fees. Candidates have to pay the application fees online only via credit/debit/net banking. SSC GD Selection Process 2024

To begin with, candidates can look at the GD Constable Selection Process shared below, their preparation. The SSC GD Selection Process includes 3 stages that candidates must clear to advance in the recruitment process. They include: 

  • Stage I: Computer-Based Exam (CBT)
  • Stage II: Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
  • Stage III: Physical Standard Test (PST)
  • Stage IV: Detailed Medical Examination (DME)/ Review Medical Examination (RME)
  • Stage V: Document Verification

Physical Efficiency Test

This is a test where the candidates are required to finish the activity. This is carried out to check the physical efficiency of the candidate. The pattern for the SSC GD Physical Efficiency Test shall be as follows:

Visual Standard Test

Candidates need to go through this test to make sure their eye sight is in optimal condition. The pattern for the Visual Standards test shall be as follows:

SSC GD Constable Medical Test

The candidates who will clear the PET will be called up for the SSC GD medical test which is the last stage. The candidates who fail the medical test will not be considered eligible for the post. The document verification of candidates for SSC GD Medical Test will also be done in this stage.
