You can apply for SSC JE Civil online from 26th July to 16th August 2023. To apply follow the steps mentioned below

SSC JE CE Selection Process 2023 

The selection procedure for SSC Junior Engineer (Civil) 2023 consists of 2 stages as mentioned below:

1. Stage 1 is Paper 1 which is a written and objective type.
2. The mode of Paper 1 is online and comprises 200 marks.
3. Stage 2 is Paper 2 which is also written and objective type for 300 marks.
4. Paper 2 will be conducted in Online mode.

• A candidate must be either:
• a citizen of India, or
• a subject of Nepal, or
• a subject of Bhutan, or
• a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
• a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently setting in.

SSC JE CE Exam Pattern 2023 (Revised)

Let’s understand the revised SSC JE Civil examination pattern from the details given below.

Note - We have highlighted points in bold that have been revised as per the new SSC JE Civil exam pattern 2023. 

• Subject 1 & 2 of Paper 1 are the same for all the candidates.
• For Subject 3, a candidate has to choose his/her subjects from Civil/ Mechanical/ Electrical.
• In both the paper 1 & 2 for General Engineering, a candidate will be required to attempt only the part as per the option given in the application form.
• In Paper 1 there will be a negative marking of 0.33 marks for every wrong answer.
• Paper 2 will be objective and will be conducted in pen and paper mode.
• In Paper 2 a candidate has to choose his/her subjects from Civil/ Mechanical/ Electrical.
• A candidate will be allowed to bring his/her own slide rule, Calculator, log table and steam table for Paper 2.
• There will also be a deduction of 0.33 marks in Paper 2 for each incorrect answer.
• Paper 2 will carry a total of 100 MCQs.
