The SSC Stenographer Exam is conducted for the recruitment of eligible candidates to the Stenographer Grade C and Stenographer Grade D posts in Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations under the Central Government. The selection process includes a Computer Based Test and a Skill Test. The salary for the appointed candidates will be in the pay scale of INR 5200 - INR 34,800. The Staff Selection Commission has released the admit card for NWR, MPR, and CR regions. Candidates who applied from SSC KKR, ER, and SR regions can check their SSC Stenographer Tier 1 application status 2023 on the official portal of SSC.
The SSC has issued a notice indicating the revised marking scheme for the SSC Stenographer Exam. As per the revised marking scheme, 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.

The candidates can apply for SSC Stenographer Exam from August 2023. For the same, the candidates can check out the direct link and the steps that must be followed to apply.
Step 1: The candidates first need to register themselves on the SSC online portal, the direct link of which is given above.
Step 2: Once registered the candidates can log in by using their credentials (Registration Number and Password).
Step 3: Now check “Stenographer Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’ Examination” under the latest notifications.
Step 4: Click on apply at the bottom right and fill in every personal detail asked against all the fields.
Step 5: Upload the Photograph (Allowed File Size: 20 KB to 50 KB, Format: JPEG/ JPG, Image Size: About 3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm (height).
Step 6: Upload the Signature (Allowed File Size: 10 KB to 20 KB, Format: JPEG/ JPG, Image Size: About 4.0 cm (width) x 2.0 cm (height).
Step 7: Click on “I Agree” and Enter the Captcha. You can click on Preview to verify all your details. Also, note if the preview is not working, that means you might have skipped any required field, so go through the fields once again.
Step 8: After Preview, Click on Submit.
Step 9: Under the latest notifications only, you will find the below-mentioned links:
Print, Download Offline Challan, Payment, Payment Status, Application Status, Double Verification of Payment
Step 10: Use these links to pay the application fee, check the payment status, and more.
Step 11: Once done with everything, the candidates must download their application form and keep a printout with them for future reference.
Note: The candidates will have to specify whether they are applying for SSC Stenographer “Grade C” or “Grade D”, or both.
